Notre Dame 52 South Florida 0 – Irish Shutout USF
All around superb effort on both sides of the ball. Special kudos the the Defense for pitching a shutout while clearing the bench to do so.
The standout on defense was Jack Kiser at LB. He moved from the practice squad to starter recording 8 tackles including 2 for a loss. He earned the right to start vs Wake.
The offense was also terrific with 4 legitimate RB’s going wild and with a lot of speed helped greatly by the blocking, especially by TE Tommy Tremble.
Need to give credit to the OL – what a great job and what a great job Tommy Rees did calling plays. I didn’t know we had any misdirection plays.
Ian Book managed the offense well, but he really needs work on leading his receivers so that they don’t break stride. Arm strength is a concern on the long ball.
