ND HIRES NEW OC
One of the hottest young coaches in the game Mike Sanford Offensive Coordinator of Boise State is reported to be the new OC hire by notredame 247.
The guy looks like a college kid, but he is reported to be one of quickest rising stars in college football. He is in his early 30’s and coached at Stanford, Yale, Western Kentucky and Boise State. And best of all he just turned down Urban Meyer.
He is quite familiar with ND since his father coached there in 1997-1998 under Bob Davie. He played QB at Penn Hills HS and his father is currently HC at Indiana State.
I doubt he would come aboard unless Kelly gave him full control of the offense and that includes play calling. Sanford will also coach the QB’s.
This is really a stunning pick up for ND.

This could be huge. It will be interesting to see how much of the offense Kelly will let him call. I hope he calls every play. I also hope the players go to him after botched plays instead of Kelly. This guy is a players coach.
I doubt this guy would join Kelly unless he runs the offense. Kelly did not call the LSU game which suggests he knows now, he doesn’t know everything. hope this is true–guy supposed to be a superstar coach, yet he’s young which will relate to the players.
Comes from a top flight program and again he turned down Urban which puts him high in my book.
