Notre Dame 24 Michigan 17 – Recap and Highlights

Michigan failed to show up and their biggest failure was their OL. Their Defense played well holding ND to 3 points in the 2nd half, but it was the ND burst out of the gates in the first half that won this game.

ND tried to give it away leading 21-3, but then Michigan ran a kick off back 99 yards closing the gap to ND 21 Mich. 10 just before the half. That is not good and I blame Brian Polian ND’s special teams Coordinator who likes to kick it inside the 5 – just stop the fooling around – ND’s ST’s are not good – just kick the damn ball out of the end zone.

I complain often about Wimbush, but he played pretty good last night although he did sky ball the long pass to Finke for a TD. That pass really was up for grabs.

Wimbush feels more comfortable passing long and he must improve his short game. His best attribute is running – 59 yards to lead the team.

ND’s defense is going to be very good barring injury, led by Tevon Coney, Khalid Kareem and Jerry Tillery.

ND was the much better team, but they still only won by 7. ND will notch wins in the next 2 games while Michigan held to 58 Rushing yds looks to have major problems when they play the big boys.

Harbaugh will really start to feel the heat now and if he loses again to Ohio State he’ll be gone.

No matter what ND does the rest of the Season Kelly will still be around.
