Notre Dame vs Georgia Predictions
Georgia coach Kirby Smart was Nick Sabin’s DC for 4 NC games – so playing a night game at ND won’t faze him at all – certainly Brian Kelly won’t. Smart is concentrating on OC Chip Long’s up-tempo offense.
What this game comes down to is the ND OL vs. Georgia’s front 7. We’ll find out if ND can move the ball against a very strong Georgia defense. They are not so good in the secondary.
If Wimbush can get pass protection he can make this game very interesting. I’m assuming ND won’t be able to run effectively against this defense especially DT Trenton Thompson, who probably will take dead aim on our RT.
This is also a must perform game for LT McGlinchy and LG Nelson. Their NFL draft status might just depend on this game – will they be able to move big, aggressive DL?.
Here is Brian Kelly’s press conference for the UGA game:
10 starters return for Georgia from last year so that’s a lot of good experience. These guys are big, fast and aggressive. To have any chance at all ND must play real, real uptempo, hopefully that will tire Georgia by the 4th quarter.
We don’t get a break at all with the Georgia QB Jake Fromm, He is a freshman that played a lot last week and this kid is very confident.
His OL is not great so if ND can pressure and sack him we might get some picks and at least stay in the game. Actually all he has to do is hand the ball to 2 great RB’s Chubb & Michel. These guys are damn hard to tackle.
Wimbush took at least 16 hits by Temple and if Georgia hits him, it will be a lot harder. I’m still pissed that Kelly did not play 2nd string QB Book last week.
I have the feeling we’ll see a lot of him Saturday night. We also need some receivers beside EQ, I’d put the little guys in – Finke and Sanders.
I look for a slugfest with Georgia edging out a 4 point win in the 4th quarter.
