Spring Football

Notre Dame opened up the Spring yesterday and Kelly held a presser. Here it is – it’s just audio:

Outside of those players still nagged by injuries all hands were on deck. Nicky Barrati and John Turner decided to pass on a 5th year while Doug Randolph is going medical with spinal issues.

Position switches: John Montelius OG has moved to the DL. DT Jacob Matuska 6’4″ 275 moved to TE. Many schools recruited him for TE as a prep schooler.

Kelly also decided to give QB Wimbush a shot and not redshirt him yet. There are many that believe Wimbush has more all around talent than Kizer and Zaire and it is possible that Wimbush could win the job.

Right now it looks like McGlinchy will move to LT joining Nelson on that side. Hoge is making his move to unseat Mustifer as starting Center. The remaining spots are open.

The media for the most part will only get brief glimpses of the practices – so don’t expect a lot.
