2023 football crash and burn. All facets of this football team imploded against a 4-4 team that should have been smashed. No one except Audric Estime did their job and certainly not the inept coaching staff.

It is all well and good to blame Hartman and he recognizes he did not play very well – no one else did if I’m not mistaken.

We have 2 weeks to fix this and I would start with the whole OL except Joe Alt. Time for a change – the Center and both guards should be replaced right now – open tryouts all this week.

Now Freeman has to make coaching changes. He should advise all assistants they will be judged by not only earlier games but specifically the last 2 games.

Lastly I feel Freeman is in over his head and needs a crash course on offensive football. That together with giving the backup QB’s some meaningful time in the remaining games.

Notre Dame got the ball first and got a 50yd FG out of it. Then Clemson rolled up 34 points while ND waited until the end of the game when Chris Tyree ran for a 21 yd TD. This game also gave the Heisman to Trevor Lawrence.

In the meantime, ND got its ass handed to them on both sides of the ball but you can chalk this loss on the ND Offense which didn’t exist. Ian Book was sacked 6 times and ran for his life the whole game.

The inside of the ND line – Center and RG got eaten alive while the Clemson DE’s played contain on Book.

Another dreadful performance just like in 2018 AND as a consolation prize ND gets Alabama in the Jan 1st Rose Bowl. Clemson #2 gets # 3 Ohio State.

Clemson is favored by 10 points now that QB Lawrence is back and that should raise the hackles of the entire ND team to be disrespected this way.

Lawrence though is a generational QB and the only way to stop him is to be in his face every play. Last time the plan was to take away RB Etienne and ND did and at the end of the game that was a tired and physically beat up Clemson team.

This game I believe Clemson will go to the pass and hit Etienne out of the backfield. ND must get to Lawrence right away and all game or they can’t win. I think they can do it and pull away in the 4th quarter.

In other news ND signed their 25th and 26th recruits to the 2021 Class:

• 4 Star Safety from Georgia Khari Gee 6’3″ 185 who flipped from LSU
• 4 Star RB from St Joes Montvale NJ Audric Estime a powerful RB who averages 150 yards per game He is6’1″ 215 lbs and finally ND gets the power back they need. He flipped from Michigan State.

A double overtime win for the Irish. There were a lot of heroes in this game, but the biggest hero was Ian Book who out of nowhere got his groove back with big plays and great passing. The highlight was his 53 yard pass to Avery David followed by a 4 yard bullet to Davis for a touchdown.

Lost in all the excitement was a touchdown saving tackle of Travis Etienne by Jay Bramblett as he was returning a missed 57 yard field goal saving a sure score.

Redemption by Book followed by redemption of Brian Kelly who finally got the big win. The ND OL dominated Clemson especially on the 2nd play of the game with precision blocking springing K Williams on a 65 yard TD run – just beautifully executed. Tommy Rees out coached the revered DC Brent Venables.

I don’t care if Clemson had players out. The guys who replaced them were all 5 Star recruits. Clemson is loaded at all positions with star players. Take their freshman 2nd string QB who threw for 439 yards – I don’t see how Lawrence could have done any better.

I also don’t care if we lose the rematch – this was just a magical game for ND and fans flooded the field.

Clemson had a helluva time with BC without Trevor Lawrence. They now have D.J. Uiagalelei – a rookie 5 Star giant 6’4″ 250 lbs who is a dual threat and very difficult to bring down whether he’s passing or running.

Travis Etienne RB is in a class by himself and I expect he’ll go for 200 total yards. He’s especially good when he’s in the passing game.

Regardless of injuries etc., this team is loaded with talent. They get 28 points in this game.

ND must go uptempo to keep Book from thinking – get it and throw. I expect Clemson to bottle up the ND running game while blitzing on every play. This game goes as Ian Book goes.
